This is the 4 or 5th time I've stayed at the Sheraton Towers Singapore. Being a now, Marriott Bonvoy Titanium elite guest who has stayed at many properties worldwide, I expect a certain standard for hotels in the Marriott chain despite the merger.

On this stay, I can say for sure that the team's adoption to feedback from the previous stay has impressed me. The service was commendable but can still be improved.

I approached the executive lounge in the evening and waited outside the lounge before being offered assistance by the staff who promptly unlocked the door upon noticing me. I was greeted by Shuang from the executive lounge who addressed me by name and acknowledged me as a repeated guest.

The booking was quickly retrieved and I was told that I received an upgrade to their best available room. Shuang confirmed the room type along with the stay date. She proceeded to inform me to enjoy the use of the lounge as it is now the cocktail hour as she processed the rest of the check-in. The check-in process was smooth and prompt. She informed me of all my benefits as a Bonvoy member. I felt appreciated and recognized by Shuang for acknowledging my loyalty as she welcomed me with a bright smile. Moreover, I was delighted when she informed us that we had been upgraded to a specialty room and confirmed my request for a late check-out. What could have been done better was for guests to have been brought up to the lounge for check-in instead of having them wait outside the lounge themselves to be noticed, as what some Marriott Hotels are doing.

Furthermore, the duty manager, Murali came by to greet me at the lounge and welcomed be back at the property. He proceeded to informe me of how he managed to secure a better suite for me as a elite member. He also informed me that the room was properly turned down and ready for me.

Upon entering the suite, I recognize minor changes that were in recognition of my feedback. The suite was prepared specifically for the number of guests staying in the room i.e. having 2 set of slippers by the side of the bed. My preferences for amenities and usual equipment i.e. HDMI wires were also noted and placed in the room upon arrival.

At breakfast, we were promptly offered a seat by the window and there was hardly a wait. Although it really depends on when you're visiting. I have encountered many times where there were just too many large tour groups queuing at breakfast.

We were offered coffee or tea as we sat down. The buffet spread was international, but mostly Chinese, obviously to cater to the tour groups. The food was alright, but not exceptional. What was impressive however was the club lounge which although smaller as compared to some others, serves quite a wide variety of items for cocktails and the service at the lounge is impeccable.

Overall, an exceptional stay where staff can be seen to be more detailed. Recognition of elite guests is also extremely commendable and what I look for in any Marriott property, especially after the merger. Although I feel like it really is a hit or miss with this property, for it's price point, it's definitely worth a shot.
