Japan Airlines extension of status promotion due to Coronavirus!

Woke up one fine morning to find an email with full Japanese as the subject. An obvious sign that the email is from Japan Airlines.

Instead of offering an extension of status due to the Coronavirus for JMB members (In China or otherwise), Japan Airlines has decided to introduce a Special Bonus Flyon points campaign that will be rolled out in the coming weeks ("within 2020"). The upside is that this promotion does not seem to be region restricted, however it also means that you'd still need to fly if you wish to retain your status.

Although, it is still uncertain if the promotion is applicable for all JMB members or only restricted to members of certain tiers as the email was addressed to "JAL Mileage Bank Top Tier Member".

Further details will be released on the JAL website and communicated to members via email.
